Cornwall Public Inquiry

Perry Dunlop
Support for the Dunlops

Support for the Dunlops

A page of letters of support for Perry which were sent to theinquiry.ca was created after Perry Dunlop was found guilty of civil contempt of court (19 November 2007).  After Perry’s incarceration the Dunlop’s mailing address in Duncan, BC was published:

1895 Alma Road,

Duncan,

B.C., V9L 5M7

Since then Helen and the girls (Monica, Heather and Marlee) have been flooded with letters and cards of support, both for  for them and for Perry.

Helen asked that some of those letters be shared with the public:

Dear Sylvia,

We believe it is important for people reading your web site to know and read about what other Canadians (and people around the world)  think about what has happened and continues to happen to Perry as a consequence of telling the Truth.

Great social change never comes without great personal sacrifice. It is comforting to know that there are so many people who realize the Evil that lies within our system, and are willing to speak up for the sake of generations of children from the past and in the future. They deserve nothing less.

Sincerely,

Helen and Family.

PS....I will add more letters on as I find time. Thanks.

(Since these letters are personal names have been withheld)

  Hi Perry,

This card was specially chosen to show that you've got friends out here on the west coast who are looking forward to seeing you thru this thing so that we can all get on with living, get to know you and your family better and maybe share some of your fantastic venison over a barbeque....The world is a better place with guys like you in it.

All the best,

Maple Bay. BC.

....................................................................

Perry,

I have never met you, but your story has made an impact on me. Having the strength to speak out for what's right and standing by your convictions, though it causes great hardship, is a quality few possess and even fewer act upon. I hope that I would be able to do the same.

Thank you.

British Columbia.

Hello Perry and Helen,

Our world is in desperate need of people with your moral fibre and steadfast convictions. It is the utmost irony that your integrity is now questioned....the only protector of the victims is now victimized. It must be difficult to fight against what sometimes may seem an impenetrable wall of lies and deceit. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your families.

Appreciatively,

British Columbia

Dear Dunlops, Our prayers and thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Love,

Mill Bay. BC.

Dear Helen and Family,

I just finished writing Perry a letter and wanted to write you as well, to let you know how grateful I am as a citizen of Ontario and a mother. You all have lost so much, and yet you still stand in dignity and in truth. Perry is a hero, but so are you. I witnessed your testimony at the inquiry via the web cam. I have so much respect for you, watching you stand there alone, courageous, facing them all with dignity and honesty. Your words rang loud and clear. I was so proud of you, and yet you are a stranger to me. But the protection of our children brings us all together in a common bond. Though we may never meet I wanted you to know how much you have touched the hearts of myself and my family. I have written letters and made phone calls to all the government officials on the behalf of Perry, and I wish I could do more, but that is all I can do at this time. I want you to know that you and your family are in my heart, and to thank you for all that you have done for the children, for Canada, for all those without voices.

Love and respect.

Kingston, Ontario

Dear Helen,

Please accept the following contribution as assistance for yourself and your family while your husband Perry is in jail. I am sorry that he is being treated so badly by the courts of Ontario. He deserves a medal and the thanks of the people of Ontario rather than this shameful treatment.

I pray that God will give strength to you and Perry and your family in this time of trial. May you stay strong and be made better and stronger by this maltreatment.

The best steel is forged in a fire. May you be able to triumph over this adversity and restore the justice system to its true purpose of protecting children from those that would abuse them.

Child abusers not Perry Dunlop should be in jail.

Yours,

Westport, Ontario

Dear Perry, Helen and Girls,

I am so saddened about Perry being arrested yesterday for being good and right.

Our corrupt Canadian law machine protects the criminals, not the just. Seeing dear Monica's face on the front of the TC and you embracing, wrenched my heart especially when you had hopefully found a safe haven at my former property in Duncan. Enclosed is a cheque of support-buy something the girls need or pay a bill -whatever.

We wish Perry could find the inner strength to face those 70 sleazy lawyers in  Cornwall one more time. There have been many cases against pedophiles recently with convictions-perhaps the tide could change and the perpetrators "in high places" could be brought to task and incarcerated for their sins against children.

NO ONE COULD EVER SAY THAT PERRY WAS WRONG TO EXPOSE THESE TERRIBLE PEOPLE!!!!!!!

My thoughts and sympathy are with you.

Hugs to Monica-such a special child.

Your friend,

Victoria, BC.

PS....

If people have a petition to release Perry please sign my name and my fiance's.

....................................................................

Dear Mr. and Mrs Helen and Perry Dunlop and Daughters,

I wish all your family well.

My heart goes out to you all at this special time of Easter and God's love to all. Jesus died on the cross for all of us. I have kept your picture in my Bible so I will not forget to pray for justice to be done. We need a whole lot of changes in the laws of our country in more ways than one.

That God above will bring something good out of this terrible ordeal for all of you. Justice is needed and for you Perry to sit there is most unfair,

Love and prayers.

Sincerely,

Millbay, BC.

Perry and Helen,

Please accept my support for doing what is right. Don't give up.

Sincerely,

Dear Helen, Perry and Girls,

It is with a very sad heart that I write this letter to your family. Helen, I knew your mom and dad quite well as they both worked with my husband Bill at the Mac. I have many fond memories of them both, and we still chuckle to this day about some of the antics with your Dad.

It boggles my mind why they, (the elite) would sentence Perry to time.

I watch the side show from time to time and have come to the conclusion that it is very one sided depending on who is on the hot seat.

I agree Perry, you would be put through hell. They are like a bunch of vultures.

Hopefully the truth will win out and your family will find peace. I can't even imagine what this is doing to your children. Perry, when you can't trust no one within the system and people are constantly coming to you to give you their story, what choice did you have, and how much faith do you have in the legal system?

My heart and prayers go out to you all. God will see you through this even though it is very rough going. Don't lose faith, there's a reason for all this hardship and heartache.

Take care of each other in Perry's absence. Hug and kiss the girls often. Your family has many friends who love and care about you.

God Bless

Cornwall. Ontario

....................................................................

Dear Helen and Perry,

I know the last thing you need is for one more person to tell you to hang in there, but I will ask God to hold you secure and He will never let you down. With thoughts and prayers for all of you.

Peace and joy,

Duncan. BC

Dear Marlee, Heather and Monica,

Family love is indeed one of the incredible wonders of our world! It bends and flexes and stays resilient in the buffeting and drying winds of life.

This undying love fills in the inevitable cracks that occur, strengthening our resolve and dedication to each other and to our heartfelt passions.

It is never an easy path for most but as you stand strong together, you can walk, limp or run forward- together.

We are praying for your family that God will ease some of your pain.

Love,

Cornwall. Ontario

 ....................................................................

Dear Perry, Helen, Marlee, Heather and Monica,

We will never know why bad things happen to good people. It just isn't right.

If we can ever do anything for you and your family, please let us know. Please accept our small donation in support of Perry.

Our hearts go out to you.

Love, Duncan. BC

....................................................................

Dear Helen,

I doubt if you'd remember me but I spent an evening with you and Perry a few years ago back at the Native Heritage Centre. It was a Christmas party that Perry was playing music at.

I just wanted to let you know that I am one of the many who are holding you and Perry close to our hearts at this moment.

I don't think there is much I can do to help you out at the moment but perhaps you could use a time-out to help you unwind a bit.

Give me a call when you would like to arrange something like that.

Thinking of you,

Duncan. BC

 ....................................................................

 Dear Helen and Perry,

You have been in our thoughts!

I had hoped to get this off to you sooner...I wish it could be more, but we will try to find extra as the time passes.

Please know you are a beacon of hope to many of us and proof that there is goodness in this world.

Thanks to you and your children, this world is a better place.

Warmly,

Toronto, Ontario

 ....................................................................

Dear Perry, Helen and Family,

May the grace, mercy and peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be upon you all. May God continue to bless, guide, encourage, strengthen, protect and defend you all in Jesus' name.

Love,

Lunenburg. Ontario

Hi Helen and Children,

Just a word to say that I am praying for you and your family during this critical time.

My friend and I are doing what we can to make Perry's persecution known. We are not the youngest but have been politically active for years. I hope that you are getting moral support from the people in Duncan.

Please know that our prayers are with you and I encourage you to trust in the Lord. He knows exactly what you are going through.

If there is anything we can do to help, please let us know.

 With love and hugs,

Regina, Saskatchewan

Perry and Helen Dunlop

Dear "Fellow Travellers" in the cause of Justice.

We are sending along our solidarity gesture gift for your needs.

As you take on another journey in this long fight, it is impossible for all of us to see what your efforts will accomplish.

But, what I believe in the core of my being is that, there is a universal law which states that not a single good deed is wasted; likewise, there is no evil deed that goes unpunished. Some may escape the punishment of prison, but they never escape the punishment of their own conscience. Oftentimes, this is more painful than prison, because it lasts a lifetime.

My brother who died January 1st was imprisoned for 12 years by the Communists in Czechoslovakia. He lived to see his dream come true where his suffering was not wasted, and the Communists were defeated.

Our thoughts and prayers go with all of you wherever you find yourselves.

Victoria. BC

 ....................................................................

Dear Helen,

Although we haven't been in touch for quite some time, that does not mean that you and Perry and your family have not been on our minds. You have.

A number of acquaintances have kept me abreast of what has been happening, and I was saddened to learn of Perry's present unfortunate situation ( to say the very least) I learned today, of a fund that is intended to provide support for your family. To that end, I hope you will accept the small enclosed amount from me and my wife.

We think of you and your lovely clan often, and we hope that we will get to see you again at some point. I have dropped a short note to Perry, and I hope you will let him know that I am thinking of him.

Needless to say, you both have many friends in these parts, and you are on our minds and in out hearts.

Sincerely,

IIrving. Texas

....................................................................

Dear Mr. Dunlop,

The enclosed is to let you know that I have been following your case very closely, and that you have my full support.

I think it is just terrible what you and your family have had to go through. It is so sad that you are being punished for trying to do something good.  I believe that someday, something good will come out of all of this, thanks to you.

I am starting to think that they should drop the whole thing, as I think it is getting to be a real farce and that there must be a coverup; nothing is done, except for hurting good people like yourself who has to pay for crimes committed by others, for the poor victims who have to re-live the past and also for the waste of the taxpayers money

My son, […] lives in […] BC and attended your rally on February 17th, to support you and your family.

He also feels very bad for what you and what your family have to endure. This is how I got your address.

The enclosed card contains the signatures and names of 62 people who support you.

I wish I would have more time to get more names, as there are a lot of people supporting you. I wish you and your family the best of luck, and may God be with you during these painful moments and help you get through this all.

You and your family are in my prayers daily.

Sincerely,

a supporter,

Cornwall. Ontario
