Inquiry Started The Healing Process Behind The Scenes

December 13, 2006 — With most of us focusing on Phase One of the Cornwall Public Inquiry which is victim and alleged victim testimony, others are working behind the scenes on healing and reconciliation. The inquiry’s Director of Policy gave an update on the community healing process during a media briefing today. Colleen Parish says there are 161 counseling files open and close to two dozen providers. Next week Commissioner Normand Glaude will deliver more details about the program. Parish says in the coming months there will be public meetings to talk about how the community can move forward. Parish says some of the information gathered could be a source of knowledge and inspiration for those in Cornwall and across Canada.
