Guilty plea in sex assaults

Cornwall Standard Freeholder

28 May 2009  Posted

By STAFF

A former supply officer and band instructor with the Cornwall army cadet corps has pleaded guilty to sexual assault charges.

Danny Davis, 55, appeared in Cornwall court to enter a plea regarding incidents that occurred between the 1970s and 1980s.

There were five complainants, and Davis pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges involving four of them.

Some of the assaults took place in the basement equipment room of the Cornwall Armouries and in the barracks of the Ipperwash Military Base, while Davis was on a training course at the base with the Brock Rifles out of Brockville.

Davis, who now resides just west of Cornwall, was responsible for distributing and issuing uniforms to army cadet corps members at the Cornwall Armouries, police said.

The case will be back court on July 27 before a sentencing date is set.  A judge has ordered a pre-sentence report and an assessment by the Royal Ottawa Hospital.  It is unclear what will happen to the charges related to the fifth complainant.

they need to stop balling up all the charges into one big charge and if one charge fails prosecute him on another. Too many deals being made. But that is just my opinion.

 Here we go again

Can I ask a question itinerant have any of your family members or friends been affected by anything any one of these perverts has ever done or are you just unique and have a perfect world. This man pled guilty because they got him by the short and hairies and he knows if he makes it hard that they will put him away for a long long time. Yeah I have a relative that was molested by this pervert. I hope he gets what he deserves life in hell.

Even if a child had told anyone what was going on would anyone have believed them remember this one during the stone ages when children were to be seen and not heard.

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #3 By dodger,

My relative is a man who has not respect for authority at all because of what this pig did to him.

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #4 By dodger,

There seems to be more and more of these sexual predators coming out of the woodwork, our system of justice is not working, touch a child, put them away for life and I mean life. Murder a child, forfeit your life. This all may seem harsh but look what's happening, more and more children being molested in all parts of the world by these sexual deviants. I have no pity what so ever for these types of perverts. Lastly don't tell me that these people are sick, the only time that they are sick is when they get caught.

I must say itinerant that I grow quite tired of the "here we go again" comments.

It is shamefull what has occurred and should not ever happen to anyone. It is a burden carried across the country in many cities by many families and not isolated to Cornwall. I trust you can focus on the issue and not paint Cornwall so terrible. I just get that message everytime I read your comments. Dodger keeps it simple. The man will be held accountable and the children now grown will hopefully to the best of their abilities, overcome.

Dodger your first post has been answered repeatedly on many different occasions, But I will answer again, You asked ‘has anyone in my family been touched by abuse?’ Yes I have. What is the benefit of knowing this?

Dodger I have some questions for you now that I have again answered your inquiry, how can you accurately comment on why he has admitted to these acts? Were you present when they happened or do you again know someone present during these atrocious acts? or do you base your comment on what you have read about it in the media?

copasetic, you grow tired of these "here we go again" comments? I can assure you Dave it is no more then I grow tired of the acts of which they are associated.

rkake you are bang on with your post, what we need are to have some accountability and repercussions by the accused

itinerant. Your to much to stomach anymore.Your fraze "Here we go again"is way out of line, you dirt bag.Hang that piece of crap.

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #8 By luckyred,

red you idiot all I meant was yet another abuse sitution in the news. If you see anything else in the statement seek psychological help.

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #9 By itinerant,

itinerant. bull**** your allways sticking up for those pieces of crap who prey on children.Even the ones who plead guilty.thank god your not the judge sentening these perverts.your the one that needs psychological help and your the f------ idiot you dirt bag.

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #10 By luckyred,

Just reading yours and dodgers posts only goes to prove how simple minded people like you are. A generic statement is completely taken out of context. It is no wonder so much shyte happens in that city and people are misled.

If you are interest in why nonsense happens in Cornwall listen to yourself or better yet take a look in the mirror.

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #11 By itinerant,

He admitted he was guilty becAUSE HE REALLY HAS NO CHOICE HE HAS FIVE ADULT WITNESSES that are very angry and their stories are indisputable. Knowing how the justice system works though the judge will probably take pity on him and give him the minimum sentence I will be very surprised if he get's anything serious as a sentence. Anything less that two years is a waste of time. Oh I have looked at myself in the mirror I like who I see an honest man who has never harmed a child I sleep well at night. Keep on blaming the victims and never the perpetrators.

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #12 By dodger,

If news of these crimes is so tiring to you just stop reading about it.

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #13 By dodger,

Dodger any reason why you cannot answer the questions?

As far as witnesses, people accused in the inquiry have apparent witnesses also, all of which were adults, yet not many accused faced charges.

This guy may actually have some form of conscience. But he still should be hung

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #14 By itinerant,

yea/ itinerant? The people accused of abuse at that so called inquirey had all kinds of witnesses. But not a one of them would take the stand and prove there innocents.Would you not want to prove your innocents itinerant, if you were acussed of crimes against children. Its not called conscience its called no were to run and no were to hide.Police and crown did there homework this peice of crap had no choice but plead guilty.

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #15 By luckyred,

The so called inquiry had better defense lawyers, this guy stood alone. Following the horseshyte that happened this criminal will take the brunt of what went wrong in the first trials. All in order to tame the anger of the masses

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #16 By itinerant,

Good I have no sympathy for him at all who we should care about is the victims. And by the way he has the DND backing him because they were his bosses at one time.

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #17 By dodger,

And to answer your question itinerant I believe my brother in law I know him since he was a little boy and only found out recently that he had been abused by this sick puppy. All these years I always wondered why someone who is such a hard worker and a dedicated family man would have such problems with authority figures but it all makes sense now. When he read the newspaper about this idiot being charged and the police asking for any more victims to come forward my brother in law broke down and cried like a baby in front of me. As for rkake I agree with you throw the damn book at these dirty devils for what they did to children.

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #18 By dodger,

By the way itinerant I knew about the news before it ever appeared in the standard Freeholder my brother in law told me the court would be back in session on July 27,2009. Not everyone is as forgiving of these sick people as you are.

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #19 By dodger,

DND is a government entity and we all know the government only takes care of the government. This a oerfact scenario to hang out a man to dry as I said before to tame the masses.

Dodger you still did not answer, again. What are you affraid of?

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #20 By itinerant,

and dodger. again you have family involved in molestation, is that the focal point of everyone in your family?

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #21 By itinerant,

You son of a biatch who the hell do you think you are. You make this seem like it is the victims fault again. My family did not do the molesting it was people in higher positions that did it don't you get it you miscreant.

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #22 By dodger,

You know what I am beginning to think that what luckyred is true you will make sure the side of the pedophile is defended and any blame is deflected towards the victim because of course the victim asked for it. Go sit right beside the accused in court make sure you show him your support because the poor bastage didn't have it coming.

Reply | Report | Page Top Post #23 By dodger,

I will not answer any more of your idiotic questions as you do not matter only the truth and you sure as hell are not the truth nor a representative of what normal Cornwall people think of this stuff.
