Helen Daley

Helen Daley has served on the boards of the AIDS Committee of Toronto, Casey House, the HIV AIDS Legal Clinic of Ontario (HALCO) and the Toronto People with AIDS Foundation. She is a lawyer and is very committed to her volunteer work in HIV and is an expert on board process. Helen has acted as trial and appellate counsel in numerous reported commercial cases including contractual disputes, corporate reorganizations, shareholder disputes and oppression remedy cases. She also specializes in securities litigation. Her securities practice includes civil actions as well as the defense of regulatory matters before the Ontario Securities Commission, Regulation Services and other industry regulators. Helen has taught at Osgoode Hall, the Advocates' Society, Queen's University Faculty of Law and the Law Society Canada. Recently she has written and spoken on the reform of governance in Canada (June 2003; December 2003); and commercial and securities fraud (May 2004).

Helen Daley has been practicing for 10 years as litigation counsel.

Helen is a member of The AIDS Committee of Toronto and served as an ACT Board member from 1992 through 1995. In 1995 ACT appointed Helen has one of its two representatives to the founding  board of HALCO. Helen returns to the board this year as an elected community member.
