Cornwall Public Inquiry

CORRECTION

Cornwall Standard Freeholder

16 January 2009

In correct information appeared in a story Thursday concerning the Cornwall Public Inquiry. Regional director of Crown operations James Stewart wrote an e-mail calling the appointment of a new judge in the Rev. Charles MacDonald sex abuse trial "troubling," but never sent it to the senior justice who appointed the judge.

Also, the 19 charges against MacDonald had been consolidated before assistant Crown attorney Lorne McConnery took over the case in 2001.

 The Standard-Freeholder regrets the errors.
