"God Bless Perry Dunlop" - Inquiry Witness

February 27, 2007 — Abuse victims shouldn’t be forgotten. That from the wife of an alleged victim at the Cornwall Public Inquiry. Claire Renshaw is testifying about the abuse her husband Robert allegedly suffered at the hands of Father Charles MacDonald and probation officer Ken Seguin as a young man. Charges against MacDonald were stayed in 2002 when a judge ruled the matter had taken too long to get to trial. Seguin committed suicide in the early 90’s and was never charged. During her testimony, she talked about a letter to the editor she wrote about the situation in Cornwall in 1998. Claire says she is in full support of Perry Dunlop who is the former city cop credited with bringing to light several allegations of abuse in the area.

[This audio clip is an excerpt of Claire reading her 1998 Letter to the Editor into the record.  Strangely and confusingly it is clipped in with testimony regarding Claire’s upset with Dick Nadeau for posting a victim’s affidavit on the original http://www.projecttruth2.com website.  The victim was not Robert – there was no concern on Claire’s part that his statement was on the site. Her upset with Dick related to his posting the affidavit of an unidentified victim whom she believed did not want his identity out in the public domain.

I don’t quite understand why AM 1220 clipped that in with Claire’s comments about Perry Dunlop? Rather confusing]
