Cornwall Public Inquiry

Citizens for Community Renewal

The Citizens for Community Renewal is headed by Paul Scott.  Scott joined forces with those battling for justice in Cornwall in early 2000.  He was briefly a member of the Coalition for Action. Friction quickly developed.  Scott moved on to form what we now know as the CCR.   The group was established formally in July 2007 after the inquiry was commissioned.

The Coalition was denied standing when it applied for standing and funding.  The CCR was granted standing and funding, barely a question asked.  Two years later, after Carson Chisholm was forced to testify, the Coalition re-applied and was granted standing and funding. “  In it application for standing the CCR claimed that “The events to be examined by this commission have generated a ‘homophobic virus’ which resulted in discrimination against some gay individuals.”

When Carson Chisholm was on the stand the CCR’s lawyer Helen Daley launched an all out attack, trying in the process it seemed to get Carson to say that because he notes that  the bulk of perpateraters are homosexual paedophiles he therefore says that all homosexuals are paedophiles!
