Inquiry Witness Says Police Get Failing Grade

Cornwall News AM 1220

June 01, 2007 — The police get a failing grade from a witness at the Cornwall Public Inquiry. This alleged victim can not be named due to a publication ban but he says school teacher Marcel Lalonde and Father Charles MacDonald sexually abused him when he was a teenager. Lalonde was found guilty on charges but not in relation to these allegations. MacDonald faced charges but they were stayed in 2002 when a judge determined the matter had taken too long to get to trial. The witness says before the inquiry began he gave the police a perfect score but now he gives them a three or four out of ten because he has learned they had other information.
