Cornwall Public Inquiry

The Victims

Andre Bissonnette

André Bissonnette

Andre Bissonnette alleges he was sexually molested by Larry Hawn.  Bissonnette was a ward of the state, in care of the Children’s Aid Society and living in one of many foster homes at the time.  Hawn, about one year older than Bissonnette, was a foster child in the same home (Andre was fourteen turning fifteen).  After the abuse Bissonette had a difficult time and was apparently categorized by some as ‘incorrigible.’  A judge sent him to St. Joseph Training School in nearby Alfred, Ontario  to ‘straighten him out.’ Bissonnette alleges he was physically and sexually abused at Alfred.
