Cornwall Public Inquiry

Sentencing forum set for next week

Cornwall Standard Freeholder

18 October 2008

Posted By (STAFF)

The Cornwall Public Inquiry will be hosting a public forum on sentencing guidelines for convicted child abusers.

The Wednesday meeting is the latest in a series of ongoing workshops that fall under the umbrella of the inquiry's Phase 2 mandate to foster healing and reconciliation in Cornwall.

Speakers at the event will include Scott Newark, a former Alberta prosecutor and one-time executive officer for the Canadian Police Association, and Ellen Campbell, founder of the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness. The inquiry commissioned the workshop on sentencing for sex offenders because so many people in the community wanted to publicly discuss the hot-button issue, said policy director Colleen Parrish.

The meeting will take place from 7-9 p. m. at the Ramada Inn. To attend, please contact Lori Loseth at (613) 938-7102 or at lori.loseth@ontario.ca.

There was an article in the actual standard freeholder topday about the Inquiry that does not appear here on the web site what gives Does it shed light on what really went on in the Lapensee Foster home. Anyone interested buy a copy of Oct.18,2008 Standard freeholder. This article shows the really big things that went on in that home pregnancy of one foster gilr by one of the sons and other evidence that these dolts do not want anyone else to see!

Finally we are reaching some hopeful solution for offenders. I can hardly wait until I see the penalty for the crime. Then hear about how everyone thinks it is a bad deal and the claims of conspiracy on that as well.
